Default Bonding Hero Monk

Has anybody tried setting up a monk hero as a bonder ?
Do they cope ?

I would like to set one up and make him put Life Barrier etc on the tank, but the interface doesn't alow me to set his target to a party member.

Am I missing something ?

When I set up Dunk as a bonder, he tends to cast the bonds and enchants at the beginning of combat.. works out great once he gets them going. Then immediately after the fight he clicks them all off. Then he recasts them at the next fight etc. Prot monk seems to work best for them IMO.

I was hoping for a way to make him pre-cast them. So he can sit back out of harms way like a regular bonder.

There is a little trick to it...

you have to disable the skills so that your hero won't drop them outside combat. Then you have to manually cast them on whoever you are targeting. Last night I set up my heor monk as a bonder and he did it just fine (Bath spirit, Life bond, life barrier). The only thing you have to worry about is that the AI will cast blessed sig as soon as it is ready, which is usually not a big deal but it can be if they waste it when they are only down a few points of energy.

As far as telling them who to target...if you want them to target you, just target yourself and then tell them to cast (while you are targeted) and you are good to go. You can't lock him on a party member but he will always cast on whoever you have targeted at teh time (if possible).

hope that helps

This might be a silly questions, but are you disabling the maintained enchantments and manually casting them?

It seems all of the maintained enchantments have to be disabled sans a handful of them. Divine Boon, Mending, and a couple others. All of this information is detailed on www.guildwiki.org in the Heros section.

If you already have them disabled then ignore this post!

Edit: Looks like the above poster beat me to it...

Thank you a lot for the information.
Exactly what I needed.

I'll try this next time.
